Anything Goes

For Sidmouth Musical Theatre's April 2019 show they approached me to create a fresh set of designs for both print and social media advertising their production of Anything Goes. They wanted me to create a design based on the nautical theme of the show, in particular the large cruise steamboat that takes centre stage in the musical.

I created a range of designs for them showing the boat sailing through a starry night, chosen to emphasise the late-night opening of their production and to help the red paint and yellow lights of the boat stand out from the muted blue backdrop of the sky and sea at night. I also used a bold typeface to help catch the eye of people walking past the posters, along with turning the 'o' of the title into a life preserver, both to continue the theme and as a callback to the traditional branding of the musical.
